In a chess game, pawns are the weakest pieces on the board. A pawn that can make it to the opposite side of the board can be promoted to a piece of choice, usually a queen. Using the promotion of pawns, it is possible for a player to have two or more queens on the board at a time. However, standard chess sets only come with one queen per side, so the captured rook is often placed upside down on the board and used as a second queen.

Adding another waiter may also allow more customers to be served, but the wait time for tables now has little effect on customer demand, and therefore increases profits, but more. Adding another wait person will have less of an impact on profits, and may even cause a decrease in profits.

6 First name in “Pulp Fiction” credits: UMA

Robert Thurman was the first Westerner to be ordained as a Tibetan Buddhist monk. Robert raised his children in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition and called his daughter “Oma” because it is a phonetic spelling of the Buddhist name “Daboma”. Uma’s big break in movies came with her starring role in Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 hit “Pulp Fiction.” My favorite Uma Thurman movie is the wonderful 1996 romantic comedy “The Truth About Cats and Dogs.”

I’m not a big fan of director Quentin Tarantino or his work. His movies are too violent for me, and the size of his ego just turns me on. Having said that, I think “Pulp Fiction” is a remarkable film. If you can look past the violence, this is really well written. And what a legacy he has. John Travolta’s career was on the rocks and he made the film for virtually no money, and it proved to be a relaunch for him. Uma Thurman became a top celebrity overnight with her role. Even Bruce Willis got something good out of it, ending a string of poor performances.
